Information On A Facebook Buyout

Posted in Social Networking at 9:36 pm by admin

There have been recent rumors of a Facebook buyout by several companies, including Microsoft, Google, and others. With Microsoft and Google engaged in a technology battle, it isn’t a surprise to see these companies rumored to be involved with a buyout of the company. Microsoft, for instance, already owns a minority stake in the company.

Yahoo has even been rumored to be interested in buying out the company. This comes as an interesting note considering that Microsoft is currently trying to purchase Yahoo. With that being said, if Yahoo was to somehow acquire Facebook, Microsoft could eventually end up with both Facebook and Yahoo at a good value. While the Yahoo rumors have been silent for well over a year, here is still a possibility that a situation like this could happen.

Another possible buyer of Face book would be Viacom. Viacom has been leaked, lastly in 2006, of being interested in the website. Viacom would be interested in purchasing Facebook to compete with News Corporation, which owns the MySpace social networking service.

Google would have a lot of interest in purchasing Facebook. As Google already owns Orkut, a very popular social networking website, they would combine it with Facebook. By doing this, they would jump to the very top of the social networking market. With the technology that Google has at its disposal, the possibilities for the social networking scene would be nearly unlimited.

Finally, Microsoft would benefit from a complete acquisition of the Facebook company. This would further their Live system and would give them more dominance over the internet world.
